D'Branin keeps having scary visions of his daughter, Skye.

Surprise, D'Branin! There's a probe that should be in deep space humming and glowing in your quarters.

Another mother "malfunction" puts a crew member into cold storage in the cargo hold. And Thale can feel his fear and trauma as he dies.

D'Branin, Rowan and Lommie investigate the probe. D'Branin thinks that it's alien contact -- that the Volcryn sent it back to them.

He was frozen solid. Eris accidently knocks off his lower jaw, which shatters. Gross.

Eris discovers the probe in D'Branin's room and tells them that he wants to shut it down because his mother wants the probe off of the ship. They convince him to let them investigate it for one day. It could be alien communication!

OK - this is weird. The probe has organic material in it and is now bleeding. And weirdest of all, the blood sample is a match with D'Branin.

Captain Eris is spending way too much time talking to the Nightflyer ship/mother in his head and slapping himself. Not the demeanor one really wants in a deep space captain.

Lommie defies Rowan's warnings and plugs the port from the space probe into her arm. She has an overwhelming and complex vision. And Thale seems to share the experience.

Then she comes to and says that the probe is dying. It leaks a lot of blood. Man, it's gross to see inanimate technology bleed.

Matheson accessed a memory of her and D'Branin after they broke up. Mother ship observes it and serves up a horrifying image of a pregnant Matheson to D'Branin. He discusses the vision with the real Matheson and learns that she was, in fact, pregnant after their break up and chose not to have the baby. It's a touching moment, and seems to bring them closer.

Lommie shares her vision with D'Branin. One detail: The probe had only been gone a month, but she uncovered recordings of a thousand years of data.
