WARNING: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!

After psychotic contortionist clown Pretzel Jack murders Tom's best friend, Jason, Jill and Tom mourn his loss together. Jill is clearly a person of interest for the cops investigating this grueome crime, who have a hard time believing her story about who/what did it.

Creeper neighbor Ian is creeping. He surprises Jill on her front lawn, and starts a conversation about her dog and the murder she witnessed. Good times! (Note Ian's disheveled look, complete with mussy hair, bare feet and oversize bathrobe. He's an oddball mess!)

Jill heads to her childhood home. She had a dream about her closet and wants to investigate... This harmless visit with the homeowner in her old house ends all too quickly, so naturally Jill lies in wait for the elderly owner to leave and then she breaks in. (Really!) Jill is determined.

Cuteness break: An adorable baby with a toy! But mysteries abound. Why is Tom giving this baby a toy and then skulking away? Super sketch move …

Back to Jill and the break-in. What does she find in her childhood closet? She tears away wallpaper to reveal another mystery blue door with handprint, now in child-size.

Tom grabs a knife and searches for Pretzel Jack where Jill says he was hiding. Nearly naked and creeping tiptoe across the room, Tom is incredibly vulnerable. He bursts into the bathroom to reveal: nothing. Clearly kinda pissed at Jill now, he leaves the knife on a bedside table and storms out of the room. (Does he think she's lying? At worst, she's wrong but scared as hell -- probably from having just witnessed a brutal murder. Not the best supportive spouse response...)

Creeper neighbor creeping, part two. Jill initiaties conversation with Ian who wants to talk about lucid dreaming. He invites her in for tea and jumps into intimate conversation about what might be going on with her. Ian's theory: Pretzel Jack is a "laughing shadow" protecting Jill from things in her life -- a guardian who may be attacking people that make her angry.

Tom drives to mystery woman's house again. She immediately says that he should not have gone to see the baby like that. He asks mystery woman if she will talk to Sarah. She says she can't step in, if Sarah is trying to protect her family. Tom sighs and remarks that the baby looks just like him. What is this? Does he have a child with Sarah, the woman that Jill saw him arguing with at the hardware store? So many secrets!!!

Neighbor Ian and Jill are still spending time together. After a rush to her therapist -- who she had been angry at -- to confirm that he was still alive, they had back to Ian's house. They talk over tea about his childhood creation ("Tall Boy." Oh god.) Then they discuss whether or not Jill is happy in her marriage, and soon move on to issues with her father. Turns out, he left her and her mom because he had a second, secret family. Whoa!

Back at mystery woman's house, Tom is stripping down (while she spies on closed circuit camera - ewwwwwww). He is soon in his skivvies and seeming to prep for a dip in a sensory deprivation pool. In this weird house. While on camera. Does he know?

Alone and back at her house, Jill is sitting at Tom's computer when a call from "S" comes in. She answers but says nothing. It's  Sarah, who launches into a tirade against Tom. She says she knows it was him at the park yesterday and that he needs to stay away from her and her family. Jill starts to spiral -- her mind is racing, lights flicker and the room is spinning. Is she somehow conjuring Pretzel Jack?

In the midcentury mystery house, drapey-clothes lady is making tea and lights up a joint. Suddenly she thinks she hears something, and our boy PJ is dashing around the halls. She spots him and -- shocked --  runs to her office and grabs a gun. As she looks down the hall, she seems to be thinking: Is this truly happening?

Oh my god, yes! It truly is happening! The horror. She shoots Pretzel Jack in the back and he crumple-folds backward.

Pretzel Jack smiles a menacing smile with a horrific, banged-up, dripping (why?) face as he gazes down at an unsuspecting Tom, floating away in his pool. Holy… Oh my… Ahhh…

Tom is in the pool, earplugs in, oblivious to his surroundings when Pretzel Jack attacks. A frenzied, splashing fight takes place and the pool is whirling in circles. Cliffhanger end: Does Tom survive? Must. Watch. Next. Episode!
