The Fisher family was relocating. Ken Fisher’s insurance sales job had dried up, and he decided to attend a seminary in South Carolina. His family went along. When they found a new house, it was too gorgeous and antique to be true. It was like something out of another era. Little did they know that the old house still had tenants.

When he asked one of the former tenants, she said her uncle had committed suicide in that room. Matt was even more creeped out than before.

The realtor had told Linda under no circumstances should they move a rock that was blocking the outhouse door. Unfortunately, Ken had never received that warning. When the kids’ ball went through a hole in the outhouse roof, he moved the rock to get it. The door burst open, and a ball of wind escaped through the house’s front door. It even knocked Linda aside as it went past. What had Ken just unleashed?

Linda couldn’t shake a feeling of unease after the outhouse incident. One night, as she was locking up the house to go to bed, she caught sight of a man hanging from the tree in the front yard. When she ran onto the porch to check? There was nobody there.

Linda was cleaning out some old closets and cubbies when she found several skulls and charms that just didn’t make her feel good. Something strange was going on. She began getting them out of the house.

Matt had been working in the barn. When he came back to the house, he saw a little girl in one window. She even waved at him. He thought it was his sister, until his sister appeared in front of him playing. When he ran up to his sister’s room to look, there was nobody there.

It was time to get some answers. Matt called his friend James to help him get the padlock off of that door. The room itself looked like a time capsule, untouched since the old man had killed himself. It was creepy enough alone, until both Matt and James began smelling fresh cigarette smoke. Nobody in the Fisher household smoked. What was going on?

A loud bang drew Matt and James upstairs. All of the upstairs doors had closed. The family always kept the doors open for air circulation. James dismissed it as a draft. Until they got downstairs and the bang happened again. When they looked again just a few moments later? All of the upstairs doors were open. That was no draft.

One evening, Linda smelled cigarette smoke. She followed the scent, and found the spectral image of a man in her bedroom, and he was smoking a cigarette. Frightened, she hid. When she looked again, he was gone. That was the final straw.

Matt and Linda finally exchanged stories of everything they’d seen in the house. When jars began flying off the shelves as though someone was throwing them, there was no doubt: the house was haunted. When Cherie woke from a terrifying nightmare that same night? They knew they were under attack.

Matt researched the house, and found three suicides that all matched the spirits he and his mother had seen. Matt’s birthday fell in the middle of all of this chaos. Ken Fisher gave him a straight razor as a gift. When Matt went to use it for the first time? He was interrupted by movement in the sink. Spiders began to appear all over the bathroom. He wanted to scream, but couldn’t. When he stepped out of the bathroom and looked back? The spiders were gone.

Pastor Jimmy gave Matt a special oil with which to anoint the house. When he and Linda finished anointing the last chimney, the final possibly entry point to the house, hornets began to swarm around Matt. Matt was horribly allergic to stings. He swatted them all around, trying to get them to go away, but finally, Matt fell from the roof. Could he have become the house’s next victim? How much more could the Fisher family take?

Everyone agreed it was time to move out. The family left, but Ken and Matt went back to clean. When Matt cleaned the room with the large rug, he found underneath symbols of dark witchcraft. They didn’t even finish cleaning that room. When the landlord pulled up in a shiny silver Cadillac, they were stunned to see it was a gorgeous blonde, and two beautiful women were with her. The blonde went inside to inspect the house.

When the blonde returned, she was annoyed. There were no longer any spirits there, and they were going to have to have a séance to get them back. When she turned to face Matt, she had aged considerably. Matt thought he might have been looking at the last tenants and the realtor. They must have been using dark magic to fill the house with spirits.
