In a word, Season 2 of Killjoys was [insert Dutch’s British accent here] smashing! Missed an episode? Fret not, here’s a easy breezy catch up guide to the Season including who died, who hooked up and who got revenge!

They found D’avin (!!) who was being held at a facility on Arkyn run by The Black Root, a secret society that’s so top secret, we still don’t know much about it except that Khylen was a part of it and they turn people into Level Sixes.

A Level Six is basically an indestructible human full of green goo instead of blood. And they look like your average Jane so you can’t really tell who’s what until they unleash a can of whoop ass on you. Think, toasters.

The Black Root lab coat types couldn’t turn D’avin into a Level Six because his body kept rejecting the green goo. This intrigued the scientists and it also intrigued Khylen who then helped D’avin escape their experiments by shooting the lab coat types in the heads. This is good for D’avin but bad for Khylen who’s got some ‘slaining to do to the Black Root HR department.

Khylen figures that if D’avin is indestructible, then he needs to be set free so that he can protect Dutch. Protect her from what, you ask? More on that later.

Reunited, the team meets with Turin, their former boss from the RAC (the agency that issues warrants) who was presumed dead (but obviously is not, he's alive and with more gorgeous hair). Turin thinks the RAC has been secretly taken over by Level Sixes, and wants the Killjoys' help in getting to the truth.

Meanwhile in the background, Johnny has also decided to team up with Pawter to get the real story behind the Company's plans for Old Town, which include putting up an electric fence around town. Johnny could get fired from being a Killjoy for this, because he’s supposed to remain neutral in such affairs. The Killjoy motto goes, “take no sides and no bribes.”

Pawter and Johnny run into interference from a dude named Jelco - who gives off a creepy space Dracula type of vibe - that lives in a compound called Spring Hill. Jelco is a Company minion but talking down to other people makes him feel pretty big. And so it goes…

Side note: Remember that The Company is run by The Nine, a group of elite families who do elite things. Delle Seyah is a part of this fold which makes her Jelco’s boss. Seasons change but some people don’t and Delle Seyah still likes being the boss. Translation: She's got some larger agenda that plays out over the season.

In the midst of trying to find Khylen, Dutch’s mind is playing tricks on her and she keeps having visions and dreams of a woman who looks and sounds exactly like her. We’ll call her “Other Dutch” for now

While Dutch’s psychosis gets the better of her, D’avin gets cozy with a cute bartender named Sabine. When they have sex, D’avin finds out in an interesting way, which the actors explain here in this exclusive behind the scenes video, that Sabine is a Level Six who was sent to spy on D’avin and team by Khylen and The Black Root. #spybang #burn

D’avin’s sex has a healing effect on Sabine making her a bit more human and a lot less raging Six killing machine. Before her Six sensibilities come back to her, Sabine gives the team intel on other Sixes that are hiding in plain sight in Old Town and she clues them in on a way to kill a Six - a device called a Dreadnaught to the temple.

Khlyen and his sidekick Fancy Lee, who’s been turned into a Six and really likes it, try to find out why D’avin is immune to the green Six goo. They hope D'avin's dad will reveal some truths, but no dice, so it’s back to the drawing board for these two.

Pawter and Johnny become an item. Johnny is Pawter’s shoulder to lean on when her mom and dad are killed in a freak frost accident, which actress Sarah Power (Pawter), talks about here. With her parents gone, Pawter becomes Qreshi royalty, which gives her and Johnny easier access to spy on The Company.

Pawter finds out that The Company plans to trap Old Towners inside the walls so that they can be working prisoners. They also plan to build electric walls around all the other planets, too. Pawter goes rogue and reveals all to the people of Old Town. It causes a rebellion, but the wall is destroyed.

After Pawter exposes The Company, Delle Seyah (who was behind the whole turn-Old-Town-residents-into-slaves-thing) reluctantly agrees to give the people of Old Town their freedom in exchange for Pawter relinquishing her status within The Nine.

205093

Once Delle Seyah has Pawter sign the agreement, Delle Seyah stabs and kills Pawter because: A) she’s evil and B) you didn’t seriously think it was going to be that easy to get rid of The Company did you?

Killjoys_Season2_101_Image18.jpg
205094

But later, Johnny becomes an official good boy gone bad - and we like it - by shooting Delle Seyah to avenge Pawter’s death. He then has to abandon his team - for reals - and fly out into the galaxy somewhere ‘cause now he’s a fugitive.

D’avin and Dutch hold Jelco hostage and he spills that in addition to building walls around towns, The Company also plans to turn everyone into a Level Six, fully knowing that only the strongest will survive and the others? D’oh well.

Killjoys_Season2_101_Image20.jpg
205096

D’avin then has Jelco lead him to The Company’s Level Six plasma supply so that he can nuke it with a rocket. And nuke it he does, but it ain’t over yet…

So they pour a counteragent that Khylen concocted into the base of the tree and …nothing happens.

Killjoys_Season2_101_Image23.jpg
205099

So then, Khlyen has to inject himself with the poison and use the black blood that comes out of his veins to speed up the tree’s decay. Which means he dies. Dutch gets sad.

Also, by poisoning the source, all the newly created Sixes are no now “human” again. Sorry, Fancy.

So, Johnny’s on the run and Dutch, with D’avin’s help, is on the hunt for Aneela and we. cannot. wait. to see. Dutch. and. Aneela. #faceoff next Season. Our money is on Dutch. Yours?
