Transformation: Season 1, Episode 7

WARNING: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!

Remember back when Adam was talking to Seg in the alleys of Kandor, and he just disappeared inexplicably? Well, he was brought back to this ship — Sardath's ship. He's the guy he stole the Zeta device from to travel through spacetime. Sardath wants it back, but Adam needs it to save Superman. So... he wins.

Well, as far as Seg is concerned, Adam is in the doghouse. He solicits Kem to act as the go-between, to organize a sit-down with Seg. Winning his friendship back is important for Adam. Almost as important as killing General Zod.

En route to the hideout, Kem crosses paths with Sevi, one of the acolytes. The Voice of Rao's charade did not get past her.

She saw him plugged in to the Genesis Chamber, where all of Krypton's babies are made. He's indulging himself on the energy of Kandor's embryos stocked there. No benevolent overlord would do such a thing! Dead giveaway.

Meanwhile, our heroes, hearing of this, plot a second (hopefully more successful) coup. While The Voice of Rao is connecting to the Genesis Chamber, he goes into a trance, making him vulnerable. If they can intercept the neural network the Voice of Rao uses to communicate with the Sagittari during this time, they might have a shot at killing him mid-energy boost. But they're going to need Dev's body for its connection.

Traveling by skimmer out to the outlands to reclaim the body of a former fiancee-turned-Voice of Rao slave is hard enough. It's even harder to do it accompanied by your lover and his fiancee. What's on the radio?!

They find Dev's body — it's kind of still alive! Then it passes out. So they have to drag him back to the skimmer. While they do, they're spotted by a mysterious, camouflaged person lurking behind a rock.

Meanwhile, Jayna and General Zod go deep into the heart of Black Zero, where they try to recruit reenforcements. It's a hard sell, as Black Zero takes a very "you're either with us or against us" policy. General Zod makes a convincing argument, but it's only when they promise to hand over Daron-Vex, the ultimate traitor, to Black Zero does the organization throw in their allegiance.

Kem wants to save Ona from the Voice of Rao, but she's drunk so much Koolaid she can't see straight. So he ultimately lets her be. But he takes his self-disappointment out on Adam, and revokes his offer to broker a talk with Seg. Now Adam has to go it alone. First stop...

Daron's office. He's brought in cuffed, and tells Daron he knows all about Daron's little deal with the creature inhabiting the Voice of Rao's body. But Adam tells him something he doesn't know: that's actually a sentry for Brainiac, and this dude will mess Kandor up royally. In exchange for his information, Adam wants Daron to bring him Seg.

Before you know it, it's coup time. While the Voice of Rao is in his trance state, our heroes — Seg, General Zod, Jayna and the Black Zero faction — make their incursion. Jayna, in particular, kicks mega ass.

Lyta and Nyssa have brought Dev's body back to the Fortress of Solitude, and Val initiates a revitalization operation on him. It's meant to free him of the alien takeover. But in the process it puts him through the wringer.

Val's work pays off, and he frees Dev and the other Sagittari of the mental shackles. When the telepathic communications get shut down, General Zod makes his approach. He goes to kill the Voice of Rao with a blade. A sweet fight ensues. Seg knocks out Daron Vex, and the Voice of Rao knocks out Seg.

But ultimately, it's Jayna who puts a hole in the sentry's body, and he falls back into the abyss.

General Zod hands Daron over to Black Zero. But it's not all a celebration: the Voice of Rao's body has yet to be found. It could still be out there! Black Zero is Zod's until the body is found.

Speaking of the Voice of Rao… he's not dead! It was merely a flesh wound. He's returned to his chamber, a little beat up, and finds dutiful Ona crouching by his throne. Well, what could he be planning now…?

While they're enjoying a (prematurely) celebratory drink, Jayna drops some heavy news onto Seg: when she and General Zod were alone, he told her that he wasn't present on Krypton when the planet exploded because he was in a prison in another dimension. Jayna thinks that General Zod has come back in time not to save Krypton... but to rule it.

Just before little Ona blows up (the Voice of Rao must have planted a bomb in her, ruthless bastard) Adam rushes in and uses the Zeta device to generate a forcefield and protect Seg. But the use of the device makes him disappear… either killing him or landing him back on Sardath's ship. We'll have to wait and see!
