WARNING: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!

The devastating loss of their child is followed by a rapid quarantine, and Rowan and Tessia are separated by glass doors. Also trapped with her: Doctor Tobis and Captain Eris.

The team quickly forms a plan -- to study what caused the baby's disintegration and find out how to cure it. The quarantined group will work from inside, the others will use the rest of the ship's tools.

Jhirl tells D'Branin he needs to pull his gear out of the memory pod to help their friends in quarantine. He does not want to -- as he is using it to obsessively communicate with his dead daughter, Skye.

The feelings are so strong that Matheson and Thale have both taken to jumping into ice baths to numb their senses. (Separately, of course. When they are close together it's even worse.)

Tests reveal that there are spores in the air of the quarantine rooms. The baby's disintegration could have been some kind of germination of a mold-like creature...

Lommie is getting very into the computer system -- she now has four ports in her arms. And she needs to make sure that "young Cynthia" is not causing problems and helping break Cynthia Eris's consciousness out of the firewalls.

Rowan created an antidote for this mystery illness and Doctor Tobis received it first -- but whoa that did not work. Tobis collapses to the floor, dying, and releases more hideous spores into the air.

Tessia tells Eris that they may need to take drastic measures. The spores cannot get out of quarantine and infect the entire ship. Which means, if it comes to it and they can't find a fast solution, they will need to kill every living thing in that room with a decontamination blast. Yes, even themselves.

Jhirl pulls the plug on D'Branin's equipment and he is furious. She breaks his commuication in the pod because they need the systems to help their friends. NOW. She seems to get through to him.

Matheson tries to talk to Thale -- to get a sense of what the Volcryn ship has in store for them -- but it's too much. She collapses by his ice bath and D'Branin rescues her. They head to the medical unit.

Suddenly Matheson realizes the noises she was sensing -- the chewing -- was the spores trying to get out of quarantine to infect the rest of the ship. They are trying to eat through the glass.

She can also hear Tessia's thoughts. She relays her last thoughts to Rowan and extends her wish to blast the quarantine room -- to kill all the spores.

Captain Eris initiates the decontamination sequence. The blasts will eradicate all organic life in the room.

The room is blasted. All organic life is gone. And -- somehow -- Eris emerges.

What?! Is the former Captain Hologram actually Captain Robot? What is this?

Oh and hey, how's Lommie doing? Looks like she might be possessed by Cynthia now…
