WARNING: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!

So... General Zod has now become the overlord of Krypton. That wasn't supposed to happen. And he's covering up his ulterior motives of tyranny and exploitation with a steaming hot helping of B.S. Welcome back, everyone!

After leaving the rally, Adam runs into Jax-Ur, who saves him from the pursuing storm troopers (or, as they're called in this universe, Sagitari), only to then tranquilize and apprehend him.

Jax-Ur takes Adam here, some underground lair, and introduces him to Mama Zed.

In fact, everyone is assembled in this underground lair. Val is there – a real Val, back from the Phantom Zone, Nyssa, and her and Seg's child Corvax (sounds like a prescription cream). How has Adam missed so much? Because he was back in the future. And a pretty crummy future at that.

Meanwhile, Seg is in the Phantom Zone. Turns out, it's really hard to hold on to memories in there. But it's very easy to grow a wicked beard!

What time is it? That's right, it's Let's Catch Adam Up on Everything He's Missed O'clock. Here's the deal: There's a satellite planet of Krypton called Wegthor, a mining planet. Jax-Ur and Val-El are angling to unite with the still-free people of this planet against Zod's rule, but they need to get to him first. Zod is using the Sagitari in Kandor to vanquish all his enemies and lay claim to the entire planet. He's siphoning off resources from the satellites to help build his fleet. But Adam knows the real deal: Zod is eradicating the peoples of these moons, in order to replicate life on Krypton there. It might be too late! *Annnnnd breathe.*

Meanwhile, Lyta-Zod has drifted over to the dark side, and is torturing a member of Black Zero for answers relating to the whereabouts of Doomsday. She doesn't know. But that makes no difference. Juice her up!

Things just get worse from there. Seg and Adam are laid low by Lobo, one of the aborigines of Colu. He's a swarthy, fast-talking, maurauder who looks like he just came out of Mad Max (the one with or without Mel).

Val-El visits Seg in the form of a mental figment, and counsels him on how to get out of the Phantom Zone. "Use one of the sandstone crystals to pierce your way through the vale", Val says. Seg does, and causes a rupture in the Zone. But...

It turns out it wasn't Val, but Brainiac. Fooled!

441552

The two of them end up on Colu, Brainiac's homeland. It's here that Brainaic wants to regain his energy, with the help of Seg, so that he's ready for the next stage of his plot. Turns out, he's pretty sick.

Adam is getting anxious about saving Seg, but Val says they can't do anything while his projector is on the fritz. Strange has another idea: a little perseverance.

441554

Meanwhile, on Colu, Seg is catching wise to Brainiac's plans to use him to get back to Krypton, and then eventually betray him (in true Brainiac fashion). So he prepares to beat the brains out of Brainiac then and there.

Nyssa leaves her child with Mama Zed and Jax-Ur, and confronts her father, Daron, (confronts him with a gun in the back of the neck) while he's toiling away at a mesotheleoma-factory underground tunnel. She wants to know who her mother was, why she was in the skimmer in which she died, and, most of all, who she really is.

But before he can say, he gets his head blown off by Lyta. Nyssa is taking into custody by the Sagitari. Will we never get any answers?!

441557

Then, in the safehouse, we learn that Mama Zed had ratted out the resistance fighters and led the Sagitari right to their base. There's a massive shootout. Mama gets it in the back. Jax and Val escape through a portal, and Adam...

Adam uses his handy-dandy Zeta transportation device to GTFO.

And General Zod has some more blackmail on Nyssa: her child with Seg. He wants to bring the resistance back into the fold, and is going to use this child to force their hand.

441560

Back on Colu, Seg sure beat the brains out of Brainiac, that's for sure.

441561

Just then, Adam teleports onto Colu and finds a dazed, incredulous Seg. After jogging his memory, Adam and Seg embrace, and practically dance on Brainiac's grave. That is until they realize that Colu's magnetic fields are messing with the Zeta, and that they might not be able to get it to teleport for two people. Buzz. Killed.
