At the end of last week, Seg had escaped from the terrorist group's lair only to find himself aswirl and marooned in an icy tundra. So, he returned to said lair, and found this woman, named Raika, chained to a container. She wants him to take her with him.

Still in her holding cell, Lyta is visited by her actual betrothed, Dev-Em. They express their love for each other. Will they ever be married?

While trying to escape through a system of underground tunnels with Raika, his new friend, he's stopped by these guys. It's hard to know who they really are, because they speak a different language. But they do know one word: El. As in the House of El (not the El train).

Meanwhile, Daron is chastising his daughter for forming strategies without his knowledge. He's concerned that losing Lyta as the scapecoat will incur Rao's rage, and if Jayna tells the godhead their plans, they're screwed. The truth will NOT set you free.

The armed men that captured Seg take him to (another) underground lair, the lair of the worshippers of Cythonna — the Krypton Ice Goddess. In exchange for saving Raika, these people will heal Seg's wounds.

Raika tends to Seg's wounds, and it's at that time that she tells him that her people won't let Seg leave alive. Why? Because apparently their clan was nearly wiped out by the House of El. Seg uses this knowledge to his advantage, and warns Raika that if she doesn't help him escape, the rest of the Els are coming. Well-played, Seg.

Just before the executioner is about to end Lyta's life, Daron comes in and stays it. The witness (the trigger-happy Sagitari) recanted, and all the charges were dropped. How'd that happen? Jayna made a deal with the house of Vex, that's how.

And the witness? She's executed on the DL and her death is made to look like a suicide.

Out in the wilderness, Seg finds an extra battery for his communication device. He uses it to contact Adam back in Kandor.

Seg asks Adam to see Lyta, and give her some information encrypted on a chip.

On it, Seg tells Lyta how much he misses and loves her, and that he's probably going to die, but that he doesn't want to because then he can't kiss her and hold her anymore.

Out in the outlands, who finds Seg but the guy he tried so hard to escape from.

Adam and Lyta arrive where they last received a signal from Seg's device, but he's gone. However, there are some clues to his whereabouts trailing behind him.

And the leader of the counter-terrorist group tells Seg that the woman he saved, Raika, is the key to stopping Brainiac. He wants to know where he took her.

Before Seg gets tortured any further, Lyta and her team enter guns blazing. They kill one of Seg's captors, but the leader escapes.

Lyta pursues the leader, and finds him deep in the tunnels. They do battle. Really cool battle.

But when he shows her he has the same family medallion around his neck that she does, Lyta halts. Turns out, this guy is Lyta's… SON. How is that going to work out? We'll have to wait until next week to find out...
