Mrs. Booth has a heart-to-heart with Marla and Mike (while pointing a gun at them), and she tells them that Eddie created Candle Cove. Booth became an Eddie convert when his telekinesis stopped her seizures.

Turns out, a much younger Ms. Booth “fed” her son to the “fire” that was Eddie so that he could “burn” more brightly. Meaning create Candle Cove. Yes, Mrs. Booth murdered her own son.
