Jennifer Goines, dressed like a chimney sweep, is puzzling her way through Paris 1921. She's been here a while, and trying to get a message to the people back in her own time. Also here? The Guardians of the Witness (aka those creepy dudes with the box). But for now, she's gotta find a way to phone home.

If she's going to get people to pay attention and come get her, Jennifer is going to get as famous as possible. And so, she stages as many Speilberg movies as she can on the Paris stage. By 1922, she's doing the play of the 12 Monkeys. Which is a terrible flop for her.

Her plays draw the attention of The Horsemen and as they come to kill her, she's saved at the last minute by Jones and Cole. Who look AMAZING in the 1920's, no? Her plan worked! Jennifer is saved by theater!

A terrifying room with that giant map ("The Word of The Witness"), red plants, creepy masks, and a monologue about what's to come. The Witness in adult form will return to Titan and lead the Army of 12 Monkeys to salvation. The Red Forest. The end of time. Also, though? Mallick wants to help her escape.

Jones find that "The Horsemen" have portable suits that can splinter one person quickly and conveniently. Cole and Jennifer get into a HUGE fight and she storms off as Jones and Cole decide they need to find The Guardians.

Back in 2046, Ramse is hopping mad at Olivia. For many reasons. She had the location of his son Sam for decades and didn't tell him. And just as they arrive to see Sam, it turns out The Witness has harmed him and he asks Ramse to kill him and put him out of his war-torn misery.

Ramse turns his rage to Olivia, who convinces him that she knows how to stop The Witness once and for all. Against his better judgement, Ramse agrees.

Back in Paris, Jennifer sees a red balloon and her Primary witchy-ways begin tingling. She thinks she's onto The Guardians and follows one of the women she knows she's seen in her sketchpad.

Her intuition leads her back to the hotel where Cole and Jones arrive just in time for an epic old-timey shootout. Jones is hit in the shoulder! Cole rushes into the room where that box is kept! But what's in the box?!

Cassie rushes to the ceremony where they're packing the box on Titan. She knows what's in the box. What's in the box?!

It's The Witness. Infant Witness! Cole and Cassie's baby is the secret weapon in the box. They're sending the baby back to 1921 so he can learn all about history.

Back in Paris in the 20's, Magdalena intervenes. She's getting awfully good at this. She shoots Cole in the chest, and he goes down to the floor. And then, she splinters back in time to warn herself! Which means the Guardians leave before Cole gets there and history is changed! It's going to get really complicated now that the bad guys can just fix stuff instantly.

Jones and Cole bring Jennifer back through the splinter machine. And make her, once again, part of the team - despite the fact that Jones thinks she's both an asset and a danger.
