Ramse bullies his way into the splinter machine room, holds Jones at gunpoint, plants a bomb on the machine and tells Jones that basically they want the same thing: to save their children from either the past or an altered future.

After Jones diffuses the bomb, Max tells Cole he has to eliminate the plague by any means, even if it means killing Ramse in the process. And then she dies, after being shot by Ramse.
