Warning: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!

Cassie and Deacon return from the future with the news that the facility will be destroyed within the next year, but they don't know how or exactly when. And Cassie and Cole have some new problems to work through.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_02.jpg
212268

Thing is - if Ramse had killed Cassie, all of the problems would be solved. No Witness, no plague, no Army of the 12 Monkeys. But also, no Cassie. No Cassie and Cole. No Cassie and Cole's baby. These are next-level parenting choices, team. But until they figure out what comes next - nobody can know that they know who The Witness is.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_03.jpg
212270

Meanwhile, Jennifer Goines has a plan straight out of Oceans 11. They're going to steal "The Word of The Witness."

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_04.jpg
212271

Jennifer's plan is basically this: they're going to splinter back to 1989, steal "The Word of The Witness" from the back of a painting at an art auction, splinter it back to make a copy, and then return it to the painting so that Olivia can buy it, as she did back then.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_05.jpg
212273

But! What Cassie and Cole are secretly planning is to remove any part of the document that says they are the parents of The Witness.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_06.jpg
212275

And so. The 1980's. These are serious looks, team. Cindy Lauper, Jessie Spano, Marty McFly and Miami Vice realness.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_07.jpg
212277

Jennifer and Cassie go to the auction house to see if they can get a sneak peek at the painting. And in the process, they have to change the plan - they're now going to be BIDDING on the painting.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_08.jpg
212279

And that means, the timeline is changing. As evidenced by Olivia, who originally, in 1989, was the only person bidding on the painting. Uh-oh.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_09.jpg
212281

So now, our heroes have to sneak into the auction house early to get the painting. Jennifer cooks up a plan within the plan - to smuggle Cassie and Cole into the auction house in one of her father's antique cars. When Cassie asks if Cole would have told her about their son, he says, "you didn't need to know." Ouch.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_10.jpg
212283

The Trojan horse plan works, but Cole is having a really hard time with all of this. Not only did he kill Ramse recently, he just found out his son is the man who started the apocalypse. Is their son looking to wipe out humanity because of Cole's genetics?

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_11.jpg
212285

Jones is having problems of her own. They know the facility will be destroyed within a year, so rather than abandon the place, she's working on a plan even she thinks is crazy.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_12.jpg
212287

And a new hitch back in the 80's - Olivia has arrived at the auction house. That's now how it went the first time around. But this is what's going down now.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_13.jpg
212289

Jennifer, posing as her mother, just starts bidding like she's either crazy or Cary Grant at the end of North by Northwest, but…nope, kinda crazy. And that draws the attention of…

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_14.jpg
212291

Leland Goines. Her father. Who happens to be out and about with tiny child-sized Jennifer Goines. He's on his way to the auction house. Causality problems like crazy, team.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_15.jpg
212293

Meanwhile, backstage, as Cassie tries to find a way to remove evidence of her motherhood on "The Word of The Witness," Cole has to sweet talk a guard, like Robert Redford in Sneakers.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_16.jpg
212295

Deacon decides to buy everyone some more time by staging a fake robbery, which causes a new problem.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_17.jpg
212297

Olivia's henchmen arrive backstage and take out the security guard and start a huge fight with Cassie and Cole. Our heroes win BUT back in the auction house…

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_18.jpg
212299

Leland Goines and baby Jennifer Goines have arrived to thwart this entire plan. Deacon decides to keep shaking everyone down, when…

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_19.jpg
212301

It turns out the auction house lady has taken the painting out of the store room to protect it.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_20.jpg
212303

Jennifer intercepts the auction house manager and discovers that Cassie and Cole are the parents of The Witness!

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_21.jpg
212304

Jennifer has sweet, wise words for her former self, but is sure not to get too close (causality…you know how it is). Jennifer manages all this while getting the document back into the painting and off to Olivia. Causality problem solved.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_22.jpg
212305

Back at the facility, Jones goes over the copy. And it turns out Jennifer decided to protect Cassie and Cole. Jones isn't angry because she has no idea what they're hiding from her. The team has a lot of new leads now that they've seen the Word of The Witness.

12Monkeys_gallery_305Recap_23.jpg
212306

With new leads come new problems. Now that they have "The Word of the Witness" - they're left with new places to look for answers. And to start? 1953, in a revival tent, when the Witness was just getting started.
